My favorite is Yanke Doodle since my husband is a flag collector and when we saw the just finished piece in Long Branch New Jersey, I just had to buy it for Ron. It now hangs proudly in our home and we have many of your pieces and even commissioned one for our son Ronnie for his 21st birthday.

  3. My favorite is the shields. My dad (deceased) went on a “city slickers” Montana trail ride and brought me back an Indian maiden doll holding a dream catcher. I’ve loved them ever since. It was one of the last things he ever bought me. Your shields remind me of that trail ride and the precious doll.

My fav is “Blue Heron Lake Loon”. My husabnd, Kevin, and I were at a VIP PW event in Maryland. We met Tim and hit it off. He was doing a live painting inspired by local surroundings and the Lake Loon was born. Kevin got to help name the painting and off course we bought it. Now “Blue Heron Lake Loon” hangs in our OBX beach house and is the topic of many conversations and memories. We also show everyone the personnal picture and they have to do the lake loon stance. Thanks Tim.

Having met and conversed with Tim about his years in Texas, our mutual interests, and the making of his artwork, it is easy for me to be a Tim Yanke fan.

My favorites of the Tim Yanke pieces are the “Lone Star” series. These pieces leave me with a feeling of “home” and “comfort” as I am a proud Native Texan. The Lone Star is a symbol of our state, it’s past as a separate republic before becoming a part of the USA, and the independant spirit that survives in us to this day. It is the prominant item in the seal of Texas A&M University, THE university in the state of Texas, and the place where I enjoyed (a bit too much) a few good years of my youth.

When I sit and look at one of these pieces, each word, phrase, object, etc. that I focus on takes my thoughts away from the present and back to some good memory of my past. I find the fact that these items and memories can be translated into “art” like this to be totally amazing.

  6. There are so many beautiful pieces, but I have to say my favorite series are the Indian pieces. And my all time favorite piece of art would be the Indian Headress. I saw it a little while back, and then had the opportunity to puchase one at a Parkwest VIP event this past June where we met Tim. I am part Chicksaw and Choctaw Indian, and that part of my heritage is extremely important to me. I want to keep my heritage alive for my children and grandchildren. This piece will allow me to do that. When I heard how important the Indians are to Tim, it made me appreciate it and Tim all that much more. Tim has a great gift and to be able to do these Indian pieces is very special. The Indian Headress is just beautiful as are all of his other works!

We have a Tim Yanke in our home… Acres of Solitude. While I haven’t been able to view many of Tim’s works in person, you have amazingly transformed the United States flag – a very recognizable image – into a multi-media masterpiece (3M). Truly, a Yanke doodle dandy!!

Tim we at AT&T are so proud of you! You got out and did something with your artistic talent! Your work is awesome and I would love to win an original Yanke! I am especially inspired by the dragon fly and the kokopellli and I love the new yin/yankee. I’ve always liked your art and you’ve taken it to a new level! Best of Luck to You. I’m proud to be able to say “I knew you when…” Kathy

I was injured on Flag Day, you may say that was my rebirth. I am a miracle in God’s plan. This artwork would help to remind me of teh daily blessing the Lord gives. Our country, surviving injury and loving Tim Yanke!

The dragonfly is my favorite. Dragonflies are the gateway between worlds.. they lead us to the dream world where we can see all possibilities. I use Tims picture of the Dragonfly as a meditative tool to take me to see the possibility of complete health. A year ago I was told I had an inoperable cancer tumor. When I met Tim and was first introduced to his work last January, I was in a wheelchair and had very little energy. After meeting his Dragonfly, I would pull it up on the computer and allow the dragonfly to take me to a world where I was in perfec health. Today, the “inoperable” tumor has been removed. The cancer had progressed in other areas of my body but are now regressing. I now only need the wheelchair when there is a long distance to go. Tim’s dragonfly is leading me on the journey to perfect health. So to me, what the Dragonfly means is reversing a death sentence and replacing it with a journey to living a healthy life. I would love to have the actual dragonfly picture instead of just being able to see it on the computer.

My favorite paiting is the commissioned piece “Pebbles of Life.” Other than “Pebbles” I am torn between the Head-dress pieces and the Rolling Stones pieces.

I first started collecting wildlife art in the 70’s, I am a hunter and fisherman and collected that art for over 30years. Being from the Midwest, hunting is more than just a hobby for me and my family. Tim’s abstract art intrigued me, and after meeting Tim and getting to know him I have purchased 2 pieces, “Utah”, and “The wind blows cold” which I love. However my favorite is Moose, This piece has struck me so deeply that all my friends have seen it thru e-mail and I have also shown it to SCI, Safari Club International friends who also have a passion for hunting. This piece fits my passion to a T, it is the ultimate for a hunter/ art collector. I just love it!

  13. Mike St.John says:

I am a fan of the Yanke Doodle’s and will probably have one on my wall one day. HOWEVER. The best one has to be the Rolling Stones Lips paintings. That is the coolest and one of the most recognized logos in the world. It just doesn’t get any more Rock and Roll than that !!! I get more comments on that painting than any other hanging in our home. It is one that just makes me smile every time I see it. And to have met Tim and to hear what it means to him makes it even more special.

  14. Lauren says:

My favorite Tim Yanke works would have to be from his dragonfly series. The words in these images such as fertility and water, to me, speak to our human nature. I especially admire the textbook definitions for the actual insect that are very subtle in the background, and it brings me back to a time from my youth, perhaps from grade school. The Dragonfly seems “pinned” to an exam table almost, with dreamy scientific words swirling around it. It makes me think I’m sitting in a class daydreaming, yet still trying to grasp the lesson to be learned.
